Tulip grew up in a small forest amongst many, many of his elven bretheren. One day, they were all destroyed by Lord Daffodil. Tulip was inspired by this extreme act of evil and became determined to follow in the ways of evil. He begged Lord Daffodil to let him join his little clan and reluctantly, Lord Daffodil let him join. Tulip thinks that he's one of the most evil people in existence. He thinks that he's a real bad-ass, but on the inside, he isn't. As you may have noticed, his magic is useless and so is he. Lord Daffodil noticed that, but he and the clan agreed to keep Tulip around just to laugh at him behind his back, occasionally laughing at him in front of his face. Tulip thinks that they're all laughing with him. One day, Lord Daffodil heard that the Chosen One was about to embark on his mystical journey to slay evil. He also heard that that was an outright lie, and that the chosen one was really some whiney little asshole who's afraid of everything. Lord Daffodil decided to send Tulip out as a spy to see if what he heard was true. He also sent Tulip out in hope that he would eventually get killed because, frankly, laughing at him just wasn't as fun as it used to be.
Indie's Inspiration for Tulip: Bishounen. Or as I like to call them "girly men." Although many girls seem to like them, some of them seem quite questionable to me (one of the reasons I thought it would be funny to put him in a dress). Other than that, there was no real inspiration. I simply thought: "You know what? This comic is in bad need of a girly man." And thus, Tulip was created.
